LEGAL

Privacy

This page describes the current public-facing data practices of Global Tech Live. Unknown legal details are intentionally left as TODOs rather than inferred.

Information you provide

If you contact us by email, your email provider and our email service may process your address and message. The website contact and newsletter forms open your email application and do not claim to store or deliver the message on the site itself.

Contributor accounts and private materials

When the contributor system is enabled, it uses Supabase Auth, database and private file storage for accounts, profiles, contributor applications, submissions, version history, editorial reviews, task agreements, business inquiries and moderation requests. Test environments are separate from production. Email verification and password recovery depend on the configured email provider; a request accepted by the provider is not a guarantee of delivery.

Profiles are private by default. You choose whether to publish your byline, biography, expertise tags, avatar and optional country/region. Personal addresses, private phone numbers and identity documents are not public portfolio fields. Identity documents are not requested by default. Drafts and verification materials are restricted to their owner and authorized editors. Public works contain only approved publication fields; private verification evidence is not copied into public works.

Community session and security records

The community uses HttpOnly session cookies named gtl_contributor_access and gtl_contributor_refresh. Access tokens are checked by the authentication provider, not trusted merely because a cookie exists. HTTPS deployments mark these cookies Secure. Request-rate protection stores keyed hashes rather than raw IP addresses or email addresses; short-lived request counters are cleaned after approximately 25 hours. Editorial history and administrative audit records are retained separately. [TODO: confirm the full cookie inventory, subprocessors, lawful processing bases and longer-term retention schedule before public launch.]

Deletion and publication history

You can request account deletion from the creator workspace or contact info@globaltechlive.com. A request first hides the public profile; it does not claim that account data has already been erased. Optional profile information, unpublished materials, published bylines, corrections and records that may need to be retained are handled separately through a controlled process. [TODO: confirm retention periods, erasure procedure and any required exceptions with qualified counsel before launch.]

Operational data

The hosting platform may process technical logs needed for security and site operation. [TODO: confirm analytics provider, retention period, cookie inventory and subprocessors before expanding this notice.]

News narration

AI narration is generated on our workstation from already public article text. It is the default voice for reports with a current recording; playback begins only when you choose to listen. Playing audio requests a static file from our website host; the host may process ordinary technical request logs. The App may keep a private, bounded audio cache on your device. This feature does not request microphone access, send reader messages to a speech provider, clone reader voices, or automatically switch to another voice. Older installed App versions may still offer device-based narration until updated; any device-provider processing for those voices depends on the operating system and selected voice.

Sharing images and saving photos

News sharing images and their QR codes are created on your device from public article information. GTL does not read your contacts, record invitation relationships or automatically send messages. The iOS App requests add-only Photos permission only when you choose Save to Photos. This permission allows adding the generated image, not reading your existing library. GTL confirms a save only after the operating system reports success. A system share sheet lets you choose a destination; completing that sheet is not proof that a recipient received a message. On the website, saving an image is handled by your browser or operating system; an ordinary webpage cannot silently write to your photo library.
